The demands on hub unit bearings have become increasingly stricter: lighter weight, increased fuel efficiency promotion, and enhanced module production systems. Current hub unit bearings are expected to have built-in sensors, especially due to the widespread adoption of antilock braking systems (ABS).

NSK offers compact, rugged and lightweight hub unit bearings with built-in ABS sensors with varying configurations: annular passive sensor, sensor located between rows, multipole magnetic encoder, and end-cap type active sensor.
