Grinding technology
Circular grinding ranks as some of Polymeca’s most key areas of expertise. Due to long-standing experience in manufacturing highly precise axle systems for geodesy devices (theodolites and laser scanners), our processes are optimized to such an extend today that the tolerance window for match grinding amounts to just 1µm. For grinding from inside or outside, we usually manufacture parts with a tolerance from 0.5 to 3 micrometer.
In addition to the traditional circular grinding, Polymeca is also perfectly equipped for non-circular grinding, for example for cam discs. Further technologies offered are surface grinding and lapping on a flat plane.
Our automated internal and external cylindrical grinding machines all have the most modern gauging controls and are equipped with the options “trend analysis” and “automatic correction”. With 24/7 operation for its lightly-manned grinding processes, Polymeca is one of a kind in the field of precision mechanical engineering and for this reason is not afraid to compare costs internationally.
The materials that we process in our grinding workshop are for the most part tempered steel, brass, and aluminum (soft and hard anodized).
