The technology of the Crios -85°C bench-top freeze dryer features a very low temperature cold trap which enables it to reach exceptional vacuum levels. It is also capable of trapping non-aqueous solvents. The temperature at the surface of the ice in the trap rises with the thickness of the accumulation on the cold trap pipes. Beyond a certain quantity of accumulated ice, the surface temperature exceeds the sublimation point. The vapor flow is no longer trapped. Instead, it enters the pump directly and sublimation pressure increases. For this reason, a trap at -80°C allows more ice to accumulate because this phenomenon occurs at a greater thickness. Strong Points:
– -85°C Trap Temperature necessary to obtain the optimum vacuum in the chamber to facilitate the removal of residual moisture from the product
– Technology using two chilling stages and two compressors
– 0.053 to 0.1 m² working area per tray
– The heated trays provide the required product sublimation heat (optional)
– Possibility to adjust the vacuum level (optional)
– Possibility of vacuum plugging for lyophilization in vials
– Large trap size
– 3 product temperature sensors to monitor and ensure the safety of the process, and to optimize the duration
– External 316 stainless steel evaporator coil
– Digital display of trap, tray and product temperature
– Illuminated temperature, filter and vacuum alarm
– Most economical model with -55°C trap
