The FAN5602 offers a DC/DC converter complete with a universal switched capacitor for the purpose of step-up and step-down operations.
Developed with an innovative and adaptive fractional switching topology, FAN5602 is highly efficient over a greater range of input/output voltages than previous models.
The FAN5602 is able to operate with reduced witching noise compared to other topologies because of its unique design, incorporating resistance-modulated loop control. Depending upon actual load conditions, The device is able to automatically switch modes depending on the load conditions, moving between constant-frequency and pulse-skipping operation as needed, resulting in better effeciency and an extended battery life.
An internal logic circuit can automatically reconfigure the system to operate at the most highly effeciant topology. The device features protection from short-circuiting and over-heating, as the soft-start circuitry keeps the device from drawing excessive. A fixed regulated output is maintained from any voltage source within the range of 2.7V to 5.5V.
