Answering a call from the aerospace industry to improvise the machining of alloys which are difficult to machine, Seco made Jetstream Tooling® which is a revolutionary recent cooling system that delivers the coolant to the optimum position close to the cutting edge. This flow of coolant lifts the chip away from rake face, increases chip control, and tool life allowing increased cutting data to be applied. As for the heat removal, the effective removal of heat from the cutting zone is one of the most important considerations that affect the performance of the cutting tool directly. For a coolant to be truly effective it needs to eliminate the heat from the cutting zone quickly and hence there is a directed flow of coolant which puts coolant accurately where it is required and is much more efficient. Jetstream tooling is so effective for removal of heat from the cutting zone that the chips get cooled quickly making it brittle.
